At Welch and Rushe you can learn while you earn. HVAC and plumbing are critical elements in healthy and sustainable spaces where we work, live, and play. Learning these specialized skills allows you to positively impact the lives of others and sets you apart. Welch and Rushe proudly supports the United Association (UA) apprenticeship and journeyman programs.

We also invest in job-related training for all employees.


We hire trained, qualified, and licensed UA certified journeymen.


On average ALL employees receive at least 40 hours of annual job-related training.

Apprenticeships & Journeyman Training Programs

Established in 1966, Welch and Rushe started as two plumbers working out of an attic office in Forest Heights, MD. We now have a staff of nearly 200 experienced and qualified individuals. From our modest beginnings, we have become the premier mechanical contractor in the Washington, DC area.
